Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium is additional funding allocated to schools for pupils from low income families…

Nationally there is a strong link between economic disadvantage and poor achievement in schools.  Across the country there is a significant gap between the progress made by pupils eligible for free school meals and those who are not eligible.  At Village Infant School we use this funding to help us try to close this gap and ensure all pupils achieve their full potential.  This support may be for a few weeks or run for a longer period.  It may take the form of one-to-one or small group teaching or extra support within the classroom.  It could also include resources and access to a range of enrichment opportunities.

It is very important that all parents/carers of children on a low income register for this grant as it allows us to provide extra resources for your children.
