Year1 have been learning all about the United Kingdom in their Geography lessons. This week Class Orion loved learning about the different seas the surround the United Kingdom.

In Science Year1 have been learning all about plants. In our lesson we planted our very own sunflower seeds. From our research it could take up to 72 days before our seeds are fully grown!

As part of our British values, this week have been learning about St George’s Day. We have been using the skills we have learned in DT to make a St George puppet.

In Science today we had a great time carefully looking at different types of beans using magnifying glasses and we dissected beans to see the seed coat and food store…it was fascinating!

We had so much fun in the Skip2b fit workshop today. The children practised beating the own skipping scores and worked on their resilience and perseverance skills. Well done Class Capri

In Art Year1 have been exploring oil pastels, they used their knowledge of Spring from our Science Spring walk to create beautiful Spring oil pastel pictures. We are very proud of their art. At the end of the lesson the children decorated their class Art studio sign.

Year1 enjoyed their time at the allotments planting potatoes and onions. In science the children have been learning about seeds, bulbs, wild and garden plants.

Class Sierra have been starting to learn about coding in their computing lessons. We started to become programmers this week by putting code blocks together to make an instruction and then more than one to make a simple algorithm.

Year1 enjoyed learning about recycling today in PSHE with Lisa from Keep Britain Tidy. We learnt what we could reuse and what could be recycled at home. We can now try to reduce, reuse or recycle. ♻️ #keepbritaintidy
